Mia LaClare Commits to Trinity Western!

South Valley’s Mia LaClare has committed to Trinity Western University, located in Langley, British Columbia, Canada! Mia will extend her soccer career at Trinity Western while majoring in Psychology. Mia has been a member of our club since she was a very young player and has been coached by Lornes Howlett, Jason Carter, and Monica Chambers over the years. Mia’s family hails from Canada and returns there to visit family and friends quite often. We wish Mia the best and extend our congratulations!


South Valley G00 Howlett, coach by Lorne Howlett, are champions of Coast Soccer League’s 2018 G2000 Premier Bracket!! The girls turned in an impressive fall season with 8 wins and only 1 loss. They have the distinguished honor of being the first girl’s team from Bakersfield to win one of CSL’s Premier Bracket in decades. This is an awesome accomplishment, and we are super proud to see all of their hard work and dedication pay off. GO THUNDER!!!


South Valley is pleased to be hosting its firs annual Thunder Winter Challenge on December 1 & 2 at the Kern County Soccer Park. This is a CalSouth sanctioned tournament. For more information please click on the ‘Tournaments’ tab on our top menu. Thank you and we hope to see you in December!

Lorryn Carter Plays for Vanguard!

South Valley G00 Watson’s Lorryn Carter secured a roster position this fall at Vanguard University in beautiful Costa Mesa, California. Vanguard is a perennial power-house in the NAIA GSAC conference. We wish Lorryn the best this season and are super proud of her accomplishments on the soccer pitch and in the classroom!
